Pamper Secrets beauty box

My Pamper Secrets beauty box arrived! Yaay! I subscribed early this month and have been eagerly awaiting its arrival. Since I only just received it I haven't used/tested any of the products. I'll be sure to do another post with more details of each product that was in my box.

Ooh before I forget, I have three invitations for three ladies to join Pamper Secrets and receive a beauty box of their own. If you would like the invite - just let me know! :)

New Brush Set

After the disappointment of my ELF brushes, I have been looking for a new set of brushes to use. A few people recommended the MAC brushes (e.g a large powder brush is £37... o_O I wanted to buy a set, needless to say I continued my search).

I see reviews of Sigma, Coastal Scents and a few other brand name brushes on Youtube all the time but I really wasn't keen on heavy shipping charges. I like the idea of beauty vloggers because they test out the products and show you - I came across a vlogger who was raving about this particular brush set.

Checked it out myself on eBay and when the time actually came to purchase - I did so with no hesitation, click HERE for the seller's page. It cost me about £21.88 in total including shipping, I wasn't expecting the brushes to come for 3-4 weeks because it was being shipped from Hong Kong - it came within 5 days (I think it came in 4 but I really cannot remember - all I know is that it came very quickly).

I haven't used the brushes yet but they are very very soft... much softer than the ELF brushes. They come in a nice cream brush holdall that I could wrap up and take with me. I'm going to wash them first and see how it goes...

Check out the pictures.

This is the video I saw where the vlogger gives a review about the brushes :

Picture Heavy

Instead of writing about everything I've done over the past few months, here are some pictures I've taken. Have a look!

And It Grows

Its been nearly 10  months since I cut my hair off and I cannot wait for the day when I can rock a full on 'fro... *big grin*. I know some people do not like the 'natural' look and I have received some comments that no one will take me seriously in the working world o_O - I'm not bothered about all of that. I've done this knowing exactly what I want as an end result and I'm just going to keep working towards that so every 3 months or so I'll put pics up of this journeeyyyyyyy!!!
I have my hair in braids mostly (its just easier for me and I know that if I have it in braids I won't be tempted to relax it).
I've learnt a few things over these past months about my hair
  1. My hair is THICK - my hair was thick when it was relaxed but I guess I underestimated how much a relaxer was thinning out my hair... I had to buy another afro pick attachment for my blowdryer.
  2. Definitely had to part ways with my hairdresser, if your hairdresser complains about your hair being too thick and her advice to you is to 'relax your hair' even though you have explained what your hair goal is - take your money and go elsewhere.
  3. Never knew I actually could have curls - they're like tight little ringlets. Cute
  4. My hair has grown. It grows... I was scared that I'd cut it all off and I'd still have no hair but it's making progress
  5. Youtube videos are my friend... so many tutorials or encouraging hair journey videos to watch.
