Why Has It Been So Long?

I'm actually writing a post... yaay!

Quick update... In the past month or so I started a new job where I had to commute 2-2.5 hours each way -_-Yes I know and that is main reason why I just haven't added new posts in a while. I am aware it is now possible to blog from a mobile phone but *meh*

I got my own place... *woop woop, does the bogle* - its so new and clean and no one has lived in it before and *sighs* - God has really shown me His wonders...

I also got engaged...

Really I did *blinks*

Okay maybe I didn't... but my boyfriend is AH-MAY-ZING! Aside from taking me from shop to shop endlessly looking for a bed, curtains, cutlery etc, he bought me a super duper birthday present and a birthday cake from Hummingbirds. I got two actually (shout out Ri and Els) ... I will do a heavy picture post soon just so you guys can see what I have been up to... I would also like to say I will  not be purchasing cakes from Lola's anymore *tears* - well not really crying about it but Hummingbirds is so much better... Like seriously!!! I'm even craving it now...

Urgh there's so much I want to say... My hair has grown, obviously not sporting an old school Kelis type fro but I will be rocking it. My love for H&M has died :o( I just don't know what is going on with these high street stores anymore, everything looks so market like and body con. ENOUGH WITH THE BODY CON already!!!

My new love is Zara. Not that I didn't love it before, I used to like it but just for my work attire. Is it because I'm getting older? I just like clean cut simple tailoring with pretty shoes and I'm good to go...

I didn't even draft this post, I just wanted to stop this long hiatus. Oh did I say I'm moving back to London (work wise) - NO MORE LONG COMMUTE... GET INNNNN!!! Only God knows how I lasted this long...

I promise I will be back with pictures and updates - toodles!!!

They're Back Babyyyyy

I saw a comment on Twitter about how Kanye and Jay-Z are two grown men talking about material things in their video and how they need to grow up or something like that, which prompted me to watch it...

Hmmm... Can we acknowledge the fact that Jay looks so happy in the video. My youngest sis even said 'this is the first time I've seen him smile like that'. They took it back with the American flag in the back reminds me of a Big Pun video or even Jay's H O V A video!!! Arghhhhhhhhhh *Nicki Minaj twitch* - videos like these get me so excited, takes me back to the hip hop I grew up on with all those Hype Williams productions. LOL!!!

I LOVE IT....

Small Haul

I've been meaning to post this for a while but just didn't have the time to... (I guess I do now, since I have the FLU    -___- )...

Do you remember how much I raved about a new mascara 'Falsifeye' in a previous post, click here if you missed it. I had been using that tube religiously just hoping they would release it... and THEY DID! *insert Carlton dance here* I really love this product. It was available to buy in Boots stores from July 13th and I made sure I bought it shortly after that. You will notice a small tube or pot next to the mascara in the pictures above, well... Boots were giving away a pot of gel eyeliner with every mascara purchased. LOVE LOVE LOVE. I use eyeliner all the time and this gel eyeliner is great, it gives you a nice clean line...no smudges. They even give you a teeny brush to apply the liner (I do suggest getting a bigger one if you're not good with fiddly things like me).

I also bought Revlon ColorStay in Mahogany. Now before you comment, please understand that I was not a fan ,of buying foundation from Boots/Superdrug etc. I used to think that the quality was represented by the price - how wrong could I have been! After breaking out so much from MAC's foundation, I started to research brands that I could try that would be skin friendly. The Revlon foundation came up along with Nars, Bobbi Brown and YSL (I have previously tried YSL - review on that another time). I decided to buy it after seeing so many good reviews on YouTube (you guys know I  love me some YouTube - its like an online review site for anything and everything) and it actually is really good.

I picked up the combination/oily skin bottle and it really does leave a nice, matte, not overly done finish. The only problem I had with this was my colour choice, when picking the colour I chose Mahogany because it really seemed like it would be my shade. FAIL!!! It came out so much darker and I thought I could get away with it but after going out and seeing the contrast between my neck and face, I realised I had to let it go. The next shade down was Cappuccino but it just looked so light and it had more of a red based colour than a yellow (make up heads you know what I mean). I've figured I might buy that colour anyway and mix the two to see what colour I do end up with.

To be honest, I did buy this a while ago and I don't use any foundation now - LONG. The small haul turned into a long review. Soz!

Isn't She Lovely?

Am I Wrong?

I was watching this video (yes I am on Youtube A LOT) and read the comments below but when I read this comment, I fell off my bed. I just burst out laughing... am I wrong for that?

'My boyfriend doesn't mind weaves or wigs, but he absolutely hates make up. This is a major problem 4 me because I'm obsessed with make up. I don't wear it often, but when we step out with our son I do like to wear it. The second I put on make up he is upset. He claims tht I look so much better with out it and it reminds him when he seen his grandma dead in the coffin wearing make up 4 the 1st time.....what am I supposed 2 do? Stop wearing I'm something I love when he gets so mad?'

Throwback

Do you have a song that takes you back to a certain time, a certain moment? This song does for me...

Every time I hear it, I smile. It just has that feel good element talk less of the amount of times I used to practise the dance moves in my living room to show off to my friends the next day. Dancehall was really blowing up at that time - Kevin Lyttle, Sean Paul, Wayne Wonder... they all churned out the hits! If I wasn't so in love with my culture, I'm sure I would have pretended to be Caribbean!!!

*All photographs taken by Derek Blanks

I mentioned in a previous post how much I love Brandy, (you can check it out here ) so I won't speak about it anymore. I think these pictures are beautiful and there are 2 dresses I would love in my wardrobe. *sighs*

Colour Me Red

I dyed my hair with Sta-Sof-Fro, clearly says 'auburn' on the box. I followed the instructions and even left the dye on for a bit longer than suggested just to ensure that the colour really showed through. *smh* - such a shame that after I washed my hair, it was STILL black.

No worries... If at first you don't succeed, try again! Only as it's hair dye I decided I wouldn't try after this if my attempt failed. I bought Creme of Nature in Bronze Copper and the colour came through quite well. I'm glad it isn't bright aka Rihanna or Pink but its nice and subtle, more my style.

Yeap, you guessed - I failed to take pics. Right now, I have braids in a la Solange Knowles so once they're out, I will definitely post some pics of the new colour.

Murder Inc Baybay...

I remember when Ashanti released 'Foolish'... Her buzz was like no other. Reminiscent of Beyonce's buzz now. I'm not even exaggerating... She released banger after banger - Foolish, Rain on Me, Happy, Southside, Whats Luv, Always on Time, Down for You... There are so many hits! I even purchased her latest album, I don't feel it was promoted well but Ashanti still has her powerhouse vocals.

The picture above was shot by a celebrity photographer Robert Ector. I think she has another project in the works and if so, I'm excited for her. As much as I love Beyonce's 'King' status, I would appreciate new material from the princess of r'n'b.

Come on.... Join In!

I have constantly been asked to join Tumblr and politely declined. I love the Tumblr blogs I visit every day but I just felt like for me, I wouldn't be able to produce an original blog, and I'd re-blog everything.

After much persuasion... I am now on Tumblr. I haven't updated much but I will soon. I won't trade my blogspot for it though. Love a bit of blogger I do lol!

Visit me NOW

I Mean... Damnnnnnn!!!

I've already posted this pic in a previous post but after seeing additional images of 'THE BODY' (that is what I will call her from now on)... I decided to post on her again.

I mean.... Damnnnnnnn!!! Is this for real? Her body is so muscular and based on the front view you really don't expect her to have such a big behind. There is no question that her bottom isn't real!

I salute you Ms Williams.
